Due to recent boundary changes we now find ourselves an integral part of East Kilbride East.

For the moment, however, Calderwood remains an area covering 2,200 acres - two-thirds of which is Rural - and extends from The Murray Roundabout in the South to the Kirkhill Golf Club in the North - a distance of about 3.4 miles.

The area boasts a number of listed buildings - Maxwellton Avenue Conservation Area has 11.
Others include:
Hunter House (Museum) + Long Calderwood Cottages + General's Bridge + Crossbasket and Gilbertfield Castle.

William and John Hunter are, arguably, the areas most famous sons.

The area is well represented with regards to Schools and Places of Worship

There are also a number of well developed Leisure and Recreation areas / facilities, and two [private] Golf Clubs.

For some considerable time Calderwood has had a proactive Community Council.
We presently have limited Links and Noticeboard pages which we hope to expand - with your help
Provision of Advertising space - on a "Not for Profit" scale - is also being considered with income going to the Calderwood Community Council Social Fund. This fund is used to provide assistance to various groups and organisations within our area of operation.
