The general purpose of a community council shall be to:
1) find out, co-ordinate and express - to Public and Local authorities - the views of the community it represents on issues affecting their area in relation to matters for which those authorities are responsible.
2) take such action in the interests of the community as appears to it to be expedient and practicable.
3) organise activities in the community interest.
Community Councils ARE NOT a 'Third-tier' of Local Government.
The Community Council meet on the first Wednesday of each month - excepting January, July and August - in Blackbraes Community Hall at 7.30 p.m.
Members of the public are invited to attend - with a warm welcome assured.
